The Bardo Foundation Attends Den Store Kuledagen 2025 in Oslo

We were proud to take part in Den Store Kuledagen in Oslo, with Executive Director Bjarne Eggesbø attending alongside members of the Junior Advisory Board to speak about the charity’s work and host an exhibition stand during the event.

Organised by Sarkomer, Den Store Kuledagen brings together patients, families, healthcare professionals and organisations connected to the sarcoma community for a day focused on support, education, lived experience and community.

Throughout the day, representatives from The Bardo Foundation met with patients, families and healthcare professionals to discuss the organisation’s work supporting osteosarcoma research, patient support initiatives and youth led community projects across Norway and internationally.

The event programme featured a wide range of speakers and perspectives including Martine Romøren speaking on the family and caregiver experience, osteosarcoma patient Aksel Bråten sharing his personal story, psychologist Linn Viktil and psychiatric nurse Marianne Kirkerud discussing mental health during and after cancer treatment, psychologist and author Janette Røseth presenting her “Prosjekt glede” motivational talk, and a closing performance from Norwegian artist Daniel Kvammen.

During the programme, Bjarne spoke about the story behind The Bardo Foundation following the loss of his son Bernardo to osteosarcoma at the age of 16, and how the organisation has worked to turn grief into meaningful action through research support, patient initiatives and community projects.

The Bardo Foundation would like to thank Sarkomer for organising such an important and welcoming event for the sarcoma community.
