International Childhood Cancer Day took place on 15 February 2026.
The Bardo Foundation was honoured to see Bernardo’s legacy featured on the screens of Times Square, New York.
Times Square is one of the most visible places in the world. Every day, hundreds of thousands of people pass through its streets, and millions more see its iconic screens online. For a moment, the story of a young boy who loved sport, friendship, and life stood at the centre of that global stage.
Seeing Bernardo’s story in Times Square was deeply meaningful for everyone connected to the Foundation. It was a reminder that the impact of one life can reach far beyond what we imagine. What began as family and friends determination to honour Bernardo's dream has grown into a global effort to change the future of osteosarcoma.
When rare diseases are seen, they are talked about. When they are talked about, people begin to work together. And when collaboration grows, progress becomes possible.
Moments like this help bring attention to the urgent need for better treatments and renewed focus on childhood cancers that have been overlooked for far too long.
We are grateful to everyone who continues to support our mission and help carry Bernardo’s legacy forward.
