Born in 2002, Aksel Bråten was regarded as one of Norway’s most promising young footballers, playing for Stabæk with remarkable skill and vision. At 14, he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. After 18 rounds of chemotherapy and major surgery to replace his knee and part of his leg with a prosthesis, the cancer was successfully removed.

 Although the illness ended his dream of a professional football career, Aksel has continued to channel his passion for the game. He is pursuing a master’s degree in finance while working as a football scout for an agency and coaching for NFF Oslo. Looking ahead, he aims to build a career in football as a manager or agent, support people through life’s toughest challenges, and raise awareness around childhood cancer.
