We are thrilled to share some wonderful news with our community.

A Norwegian professional ski team has rebranded ahead of Season XVIII of the Ski Classics World Championship, and they have chosen to carry the name of Bernardo into some of the most iconic long distance ski races in the world.

Formerly known as Team Aktiv mot kreft, the team is now competing as Bardo Ski Team in partnership with The Bardo Foundation. Founded by athletes Halfdan Baumann and Erling Owren, the team was built on the belief that sport can be a powerful platform for charitable causes. By choosing to align with The Bardo Foundation, they are bringing our mission to a whole new audience across six countries and 15 races throughout the 2026/27 season.

The Team

Bardo Ski Team head into Season XVIII with a roster of seven athletes: Hanna Hansen, Madelene Nord, Camilla Brørs, Halfdan Baumann, Erling Owren, Erik Ola Jorde and Halvor Bade.

The Events

The team faces 15 Pro events across six countries in Season XVIII, from the Marcialonga in the Dolomites to Vasaloppet in the Swedish forests and Birkebeinerrennet from Rena to Lillehammer. Together they will compete at legendary events from December 2026 through to April 2027.

“Few winter arenas reach further, and we cannot wait to race with Bardo on our chests,” the team wrote.

We could not be prouder to have them represent our community on the world stage. This partnership means so much to us, and we know it would have meant the world to Bernardo too.
