What a day for Team Bardo at the 2026 Holmenkollstafetten, the worlds largest relay race.
Against teams featuring an Olympic gold medallist, multiple Olympic and World Championship medallists, and elite professional athletes, The Bardo Running Club delivered an extraordinary performance.
🥇 1st charity team
🏅 12th overall out of nearly 5,000 teams
⏱️ Nearly 2 minutes ahead of a team featuring five Olympians
This also marks the fourth straight year on the Holmenkollstafetten podium for Team Bardo: 2023 • 2024 • 2025 • 2026
Bardo Running Club was co-founded by Bernardo’s friends William Bratsberg and Henrik Hillestad, and what began as a way to honour their friend has grown into an incredible youth led movement supporting children and young people affected by cancer.

More than 60 runners took part this year. Ferdinand Schou produced an unforgettable final leg into Bislett Stadium, while Ole Bech Gjørv helped drive the team forward and coached every Bardo runner through the final stadium lap. Charlotta Wessel-Aas once again led the girls team following its launch last year, with another fantastic performance and team spirit throughout the day.
Our very own Ale and Amalia also joined this year’s event, each running their own leg of the race. We were also proud to have three sarcoma doctors from Oslo University Hospital running alongside the team this year. A true family affair.
Most importantly, every step taken helped support this year’s project: a new dedicated training gym for sarcoma patients at Oslo University Hospital.
A massive thank you to every person who ran, promoted the events, or donated to the campaign. We are humbled by your love and compassion.
You can donate to the team here.
Because of Bernardo 💛
